Last season, she made her debut in the Balkans with Macedonia Opera in the title role of AIDA, and sang the role of Bess with New York City Opera in the 20th century opera, STRANGE FRUIT. In Washington D.C. she performed the role of Mary in the 20th opera YORK: THE VOICE OF FREEDOM with the National Opera Association.
Tamara has been a featured artist at the Weill Hall/Carnegie Hall Voices of the New Millennium Gala presented by the New York Vocal Artists. At the New York City Opera she covered the role of Sister Rose from DEAD MAN WALKING, sung the role of The Strawberry Woman from PORGY & BESS and has been a featured artist in the NYC Opera American Composer’s Showcase. At the Minnesota Opera, she sang the title roles of AIDA and TOSCA in outreach presentations.
She created the role of Mary in the world premiere of YORK: THE VOICE OF FREEDOM commissioned by Penn State University. The opera broadcasted on PBS public television in August of 2003 in commemoration the bi-centennial of the Lewis & Clark expedition.
Her concert work includes THE VERDI REQUIEM, ROSSINI’S STABAT MATER and SCHUBERT MASS IN G with the Brooklyn Contemporary Choral Society, concert versions of Fiordiligi from COSI FAN TUTTE, the title role of AIDA, Beethoven's 9th Symphony and an array Italian Opera Galas with the New Haven Symphony, One World Symphony and The Gateway Symphony, In France, she sang a series of Sacred Concerts and also performed the role of Musetta from LA BOHEME at the Lyrique-en-Mer Summer Festival.
Boheme Opera’s CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA featured her in the role of Santuzza, and Trilogy Opera featured her in the title role of Harriet in the 20th century opera, : A WOMAN CALLED MOSES.
The song cycle called REFLECTIONS was written especially for Tamara by renowned Cuban composer, Tania Leon, and premiered at the 2006 Grand Opening of the new Gatehouse Theatre in New York City. Shortly afterwards, she featured in concert in a Weill Hall/Carnegie Hall gala celebration honouring Ms. Leon.
Tamara has received awards and prizes from New York Vocal Artist Foundation, the Altamura/Enrico Caruso International Voice Competition, the Rising Star Voice Competition, the South Orange Symphony Vocal Competition, and she is a two-time prize winner of the Vera Scammon International Voice Competition.
Tamara's 2010 engagements include Bruckner’s TE DEUM with Midland Symphony Orchestra in April, Concert Recitals with the Botanischer Sondargarten - Hamburg and the Luebecker Sommeroperette Festival in June, and a Weihnachtskonzert with the Klassik Philharmonie of Hamburg on Christmas Day of 2010.
